VinaEdge provides insights and information about all things related to emerging market investing, living, and succeeding. We are a small team of retail investors interested in emerging markets, and VinaEdge is about sharing our passion for these topics with like-minded people. We believe that there are many interesting opportunities in emerging markets in terms of investment, lifestyles, and business. However, we also know firsthand that navigating emerging markets can be a challenge. We hope this site will help you figure out if emerging market investing and/or living is right for you.

VinaEdge is unique for a few reasons. First, we come from an eclectic mix of backgrounds, disciplines, and lifestyles. We are brought together by our shared interests in emerging market finance and investing, as well as by the fact that we are interested in global issues in general. All of our researchers and content creators have PhDs in diverse fields including economics, organizational management, anthropology, and computer science. Thus, we take pride in the rigor of our content, but we also don’t publish content that is overly technical and too hard to understand.

We also believe our global interests allow us to look at global investing topics in unique ways. Many mainstream investment sites don’t cover frontier markets like Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Rwanda, or the Philippines. In providing comprehensive coverage markets often overlooked by other sources, we aim to provide unique and interesting information.

While our main interest is in investing, we also have a strong interest in lifestyle design and living lives that are in accordance with our values and preferences. We have been influenced by sites like the Nomad Capitalist and Tim Ferriss, which emphasize using global markets outside of your home country to find better profit opportunities and places that will allow you to live a better quality of life. What’s the point of investing and making profits if you aren’t doing it in a place that is in accord with your lifestyle, goals, and values?

Lastly, we are not trying to sell you anything you don’t want or won’t be useful! We are not gurus or influencers, and we are not going to try to sell you BS services or products. While we have some ideas for products and services we may offer at some point, our bread and butter is—and will remain—content…good content. If we offer something at some point, you can be sure it will be useful, interesting, and provide some kind of value that’s unique. We are here to share information, learn about emerging markets, and hopefully profit and enrich our lives in unique ways. We enjoy the research that goes into our content, and this is enough. Some people have already asked how they can support us more, and all we can say is subscribe to our YouTube channel, sign up for our newsletter, and buy us a coffee if you wish.

In short, we hope to provide interesting, no-BS content on emerging market investing and living that will help you determine if you want to act on it or not. We are also low-tech, bootstrapped, and conduct all our research ourselves. So while our videos may not be polished and refined like a professional YouTuber or startup pitch deck, our information always be useful and informative. Substance over style.
